Psychological Assessments in Katoomba

Elm Clinic supports children and adults across Katoomba and the Blue Mountains through individualised assessments including:

  • ADHD assessment - a thorough, evidence-based assessment process to understand attention, focus and executive functioning difficulties.

  • Cognitive assessment - used to assess giftedness or intellectual disability, and to better understand a person’s cognitive strengths and needs. We also include some verbal and visual memory testing as part of our cognitive assessments, and can perform more detailed memory assessment if required.

  • Learning assessment - assessing specific learning disorders in the areas of reading, writing or maths, which are also commonly known as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia.

Comprehensive assessments can give you insight about neurodivergence, and help you understand your strengths and difficulties. For children, they can assist parents and schools in ensuring that sufficient supports are available to allow children to achieve at their best.

Fees for assessments vary based on individual circumstances. Please contact us to discuss your assessment needs and obtain a quote.

If you’re specifically interested in trying ADHD medication, it can often be more cost effective to see a paediatrician or psychiatrist for diagnosis - we’re happy to talk through what’s right for you.
