Frequently Asked Questions

  • There are usually four stages to an assessment:

    1. Intake. This involves initial communication to discuss your needs and plan your assessment. A quote will be provided and your consent will be obtained before proceeding.

    2. Information gathering. This step includes gathering of existing reports and documents that are relevant to the assessment, as well as preliminary questionnaires.

    3. Face to face appointment. This usually takes 3-4 hours, depending on the type of assessment. For child assessments, an additional 1 hour session is required to speak to carers without the child present. This interview can be conducted separately if care arrangements cannot be made on the day of testing. Additional questionnaires may be required after the testing session. Any further testing needs will be discussed.

    4. Report writing. This step usually takes 3-4 weeks, but can sometimes take longer if additional assessment is required. If additional testing is indicated, no additional costs will be incurred without your prior consent.

    5. Feedback. This step involves talking through the findings of the assessment. It is usually done via telehealth.

  • For individual therapy:

    $221.55

    $181.55 with a Health Care card or Pensioner Concession Card (a copy of your card is required).

    With a referral and mental health care plan, you can receive a Medicare rebate of $101.55 per session, for up to 10 sessions per year.

    You can pay by card at the time of your session, or by direct debit before your session. If applicable, we will process your Medicare rebate at the time of payment.

    For assessments:

    The costs of an assessment vary depending on the individual tests administered, which are customised for each client. Fees generally range from $1100-$2650.

    For training:

    Registered psychologists - $220 p/h, or $130 pp for 2 hour group session (4-5 people.

    Provisional psychologists - $150 p/h, or $90 pp for 2 hour group session (4-5 people).

  • A 50% deposit is required prior to the initial session. The final 50% is payable prior to release of the diagnostic report.

    Payment plans can be arranged and the assessment can be booked once payments total 50%.

  • We provide assessment and group therapy services for children. Individual therapy is currently only available for adults and mature adolescents who make their own health decisions.

  • We recommend you check your extras coverage to see whether psychology is included, and check for other limits on claiming.

    Please note that you cannot claim Medicare and private health rebates for the same session.

    We are unable to process private insurance claims on-site.

  • Yes, we use secure videoconferencing software to provide telehealth appointments, ensuring you can access help from wherever you are in Australia.

  • Unfortunately, our office has stairs, so is not suitable for people with limited mobility who cannot use stairs.

  • Yes, we are a registered DVA health care provider.

  • Supporting people through this process is very important to us. We hope to be able to offer these assessments very soon!

  • If you're not able to pay a fine in NSW, you may be able to request a Work and Development Order (WDO).

    A WDO enables you to pay off or reduce your fine by attending counselling

    We are an approved sponsor organisation for WDOs, which means that if you’re eligible, you may have your fine reduced by attending sessions with us.

    The amount your fine is reduced by will be determined by the activity you complete in your WDO and is up to $1,000 a month.
